Democracy Smethocracy!

Seriously, I’m tired of all the hoopla about making the world safe for Democracy. Who the f*ck decided (for the rest of the world) that Democracy was the way to go. What gives us the unmitigated gall to ACTIVELY suppress any other form of government.

This morning’s post was supposed to be light hearted. A bit of fun as I listen to the pitter patter of raindrops on my roof. But no more. Also, for the sake of all that is good, please, EVERYONE in the UNITED STATES, read up on socialism and communism. I’m tired of the misuse of those terms everywhere, in the news, by professors. Here is a BIG hint: Government run does not equal socialist!!

Though I’m not surprised. Based on our history, I don’t think there was ever a point in time where even a simple majority (50% plus one person) ever actually understood the meaning of those terms.

But back to the main topic, I would think, if creating a world where people are allowed to choose and govern themselves, that we’d be apply a laissez-faire type attitude to governments around the world. I suppose though there is no point in pretending. As much as I’d like to focus on this one aspect of our foreign policy, the aspect that politicians like to hype when attempting to get votes, the truth is, there are economic and military considerations for which it is important for us to ensure that there are governments out there that are sympathetic to us even as we pretend to be doing this “for their own good”.

If you’re going to bullshit me, at least do it right!
